iGaging Thin Rip Jig – 36-JIG8
The Thin Rip Jig from iGaging is easy to use, featuring a strong grip knob that securely locks it into a 3/4″ miter track. Its laser etched scale, with 1/16″ and 1mm graduations, enables precise adjustments. The metal roller bearing guide ensures your work piece stays firmly against the fence and serves as a stop for consistent, repeatable cuts. Simply cut a strip, reposition the saw fence to align the stock with the ball bearing, and then cut the next thin strip.

Safety:
For safest operation your table saw must be equipped with the following:
- Zero-clearance insert
- Splitter or riving knife
- Blade guard
Setup and Use:
- Position the metal roller bearing against the saw blade and align the Reference Pointer to zero by adjusting it to the left or right.
- Once aligned, set the desired measurement on the scale and lock it in place with the knob, preparing the jig for an accurate cut.
- Re-adjust the fence so the off-cut will be against the metal roller bearing and lock the fence.
- Make a test cut, check the thickness of the cutoff and adjust if necessary, using the scale.
- For each successive cut, unlock the fence and slide it over until the stock contacts the bearing, lock the fence, and make the cut.
Other Uses:
- On the table saw, the jig can be positioned in the right-hand miter slot, a few inches in front of the blade, and used to make repeated short cutoffs using the miter gauge.
- On the bandsaw, the jig can be used in the miter slot as a single-point fence to help guide stock when making multiple curved cuts.
